THE Management Information System (MIS) Department of the Sharjah International Airport has designed a special four week training course for college students as part of their training curriculum for graduation.
Students from Al Ain University and Dubai Men’s College are now getting trainned at the MIS Department of Sharjah Airport, a spokesman of the airport told The gulf Today. Groups of students would continue to get their training at the department in the future as well.
The four week training programme has been designed to inform the students about the MIS department’s role in the activities of Sharjah Airport.
The first week of the training will highlight the major activities and the structure of Sharjah Airport Authority. Students will also get more acquinted with the organisational hierarchy of the airport authority and the relationship amongst its different departments.

During the second week, students will foucs on the activities of the MIS department at the Sharjah Airport Authority and the department’s services provided to other departments at the airport.
A demonstration of the existing information systems like PIS, Budget, Fixed Assets, Payroll and Cargo system will be among the major topics discussed during the third week. Latest trends followed by the MIS department in automation, internet information system, and the technical problems facing the information system and their solutions will also be highlighted.
Students, in the fourth and last week of their training, will be apprised of the security technique used at the Airport, the information systems and establishing reliable approaches of maintaining that system.
Dr.S.Sridhar, Director MIS said that the month-long training course has been introduced because Sharjah International Airport is keen to play a leading role in training young nationals.
